THE ROAD HOME

"The Journey From Homelessness to Home"

"The Road Home" powerfully shares a glimpse inside the life of someone who is going through the transition from being homeless to having a home to call their own and that wants a new beginning, just as we all do. This exhibit's mission is to create awareness and compassion for our unsheltered community and to change the way we see those who are trying to have a better life. We hope you leave this exhibit realizing that individuals dealing with homelessness are human and often the circumstances by which many become homeless isn’t always a choice nor is it because of anything they did wrong. So many times, people don’t have the support, family, or structure needed to help them through the challenges of life. This is an opportunity to better understand how someone’s circumstances can change within the blink of an eye and with the right care and resources, anyone can achieve their dreams of having a fresh start, successfully.

“To save a life is a real and beautiful thing. To make a home for the homeless, yes, it is a thing that must be good; whatever the world may say, it cannot be wrong.”   — Vincent Van Gogh
